You Call This A Snow Day?
I've only been in VA since August, but one of the biggest differences between here and Western NY where I grew up is what constitutes a snow day. In the past 2 weeks, a grand total of 3 1/2 days of school have been canceled. This has been based on maybe 4 inches of snow and ice. Granted, VA is all hills and mountains, and there are many back roads that don't get plowed, but I'm not used to snow storms being measured in inches and not fet. Take today for example. We had frozen rain all day yesterday and from this we get a snow day today. Today's weather? Lower 30's, mostly cloudy, no precipitation whatsoever.
